Lithuanian WiMAX operator Mezon (owned by LRTC) is working to bring WiMAX to the public transportation system. Gediminas Budvytis, Director of technical development at LRTC, told me that they are running a trial along a train route from Vilnius to Kaunas, with a throughput of 10 mbps and handoffs at 120 kmps. In Vilnius, they are installing WiMAX modems on buses for passengers. You can also see where the buses are going here.
